The first record you bought:
I bought “Sign ´O´ The Times” and De La Soul´s “3 Feet High & Rising” simultaneously.
The record you own that you are most proud of:
Today I would say Eska’s debut record because I know what it cost to make creatively and spritually and I feel it is an invaluable contribution to the universe!
A record that inspires you production-wise:
There are so many… I was listening to J Dilla’s “Donuts” the other day and vibing so hard off that production. But at another end of the spectrum, I was recently immersed in Cassandra Wilson’s tribute to Miles Davis, “Travelling Miles”. The production on that album is exquisite.
Your favourite Prince´s record:
“Sign ´O´ The Times” will always have a special place in my heart as it was the first record I bought.
A record that makes you always want to dance:
“Papa Don’t Take No Mess” by James Brown. Ridiculous swagger.
A record that makes you go all emotional:
There are a few pieces of music that make me cry almost without fail. Among them are Tom Waits’ “Innocent When You Dream” and PJ Harvey’s “Hanging In The Wire”.
The record that you use to come down and relax:
I’ve been unwinding to Thundercat’s “Where The Giants Roam” recently. The harmonies are so rich and generous.
Your favourite record of the 2016 so far:
David Bowie’s “Blackstar”
The last record you bought:
Radiohead´s “A Moon Shaped Pool”
