Few days ago we’ve chatted with Dylan from Cloud Nothings. Take a look at what comes out.
1) Hi Dylan, introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey, I’m Dylan from Cloud Nothings – I’m in Cleveland, Ohio right now.
2) How did you come up with the name “Cloud Nothing”?
I just scribbled it on the back of some homework in high school…it really doesn’t mean anything.
3) You’re very young so, how old you were when you started to play music ?
I started piano when I was 4 years old, and had my first band around age 13. Music has more or less always been a big part of my life.
4) From “Turning On” to Cloud Nothings what is changed in your life and in your approch to music?
I’ve had to get used to playing with a band as opposed to just recording on my own, so my approach to music and songwriting now considers how the song will sound when played live. I think live shows are a really, really important part of music and the quality of a band in general. My life has just become a lot more hectic and busy, but I’m enjoying it!
5) Describe us the process that leads to the creation of your song.
I sit down with a guitar and just sort of mess around until I end up playing something that I think sounds cool, then I’ll make up words on the spot, and that’ll pretty much be the song. I think I’m going to start writing differently, though – the next album will probably sound different.
6) What’s the plans for the 2011?
A lot of touring and hopefully a new album or EP before the year is over!
7) We’ve finished. Greets the readers in your preferred language and suggest us a song.
Thanks! Everyone should listen to “Web In Front” by Archers Of Loaf.
