1) Hi Hector, introduce yourself to our readers
I’m Hector Moralez…Born in California, coming from The West Side. I live in Paris now.
I’m a Producer of House Music, been DJ’ing for 15 years. Owner of the Labels: Minority Music, The Factory and Creator of We The Brand. I’m a man of many traits.
I like to be an innovator and not follow the trends or what everyone is doing. I think I’m a purist, in what I do, and who I am. I’m a simple person, love family, music, and good friends….and food!
I think living honestly, is the only way to live. I’d rather have 5 true friends in life, than thousands of fake ones. To me, life is short and I know who I am, and who my real friends and family are.
I love what I do, and thats making House Music – and sharing it with the people. Music is my life.
2)You come from USA, where the real house music is born, but today? What is the musical situation?I still like and respect the music from the States, but now living in Europe, I see a whole other side of the music industry and business.
For me, the music I make and play today, is all about the European markets. They seem to appreciate and be more up on all the music I make and play. The crowds here in Europe are alive and bigger than the States, for my style of music. I miss parts of the States, but I love living in Europe. This is where its at!
3) I know both your parents are music fan, what kind of music education their give you?
My Father influenced me with Disco and Rhythm & Blues, playing in our house all the time when I was growing up. I get my Latin Roots from my Mother, she loves Salsa, Cumbia, Ranchero music.
Both my parents loved to Dance and have a good time, and this had a huge impact on me and who I am. Other than that, my musical education came from going to the Raves in early 90’s in San Francisco, the peak time of the emerging House Music, it was amazing – the BEST education I could receive for Dance Music.
4) DJ, producer, label owner and maker of “We The Brand”, you are a 360 artist
Firstly I would say I’m DJ, #1. This was my first love, and something I knew I wanted to be at the age of 11. I love to play music for people, and enjoy watching them dancing, this is what its all about! Producing came 2nd to me, from wanting to make my own music to play. It gave me a whole different opportunity to be creative and reach people on a bigger scale, hence Europe. We The Brand is basically a T Shirt design I created for fun, to wear, and something all my friends can be a part of. It turned into now, a community for all the fans, friends, and family to support, and now we do “We The Brand” hosted events worldwide. It’s something special to see and makes me proud, when someone is in our shirts, has stickers, glasses, lighters, its GREAT! Its a fashion thing, but also a movement for everyone to be a part of. I have tons of ideas and designs, like the new “I Got Loops” shirts, that I want to keep pushing, and will be working on now and in the future!
5) In a previous interview you entered Naples in your 4/5 favorite cities, why?
It has to be the people of Naples, that brought me to the city! The entire Wozzup crew and Everyone I met was cool and warm to me, from the first meeting! I was welcomed like Family, and this reminds me of home and coming from a Mexican background. Thats what its all about! From what I saw, I felt the city was beautiful. I got a nice tour on the back of a scooter, something I’d never done before! It was amazing and the pizza was GREAT! I can’t wait to come back again!
