Childhood friends from the village of Anserall perched high in the Pyrenees, Sergio, Aleix and Ed dream up an appropriately sun-bleached reading of rock’n’roll’s eternal narrative, small-town escapism.
Hi guys. Could you describe for which reasons did you form the band?
We formed the band because we had known each other for a while and we where into music. We were growing up in a small town where there wasn’t much to do. I think that having the band kept us going and generated new expectatives. We like different kinds of music, at the moment we are really into 90s brit pop and trip-hop.
So what about the “scene” in Barcelona presently? What about venues or other kinds of music?
The scene in Barcelona is OK, I think that we are missing some clubs that play good electronic music because most of them just play chart hits or mainstream dubstep. There are some of the best bands of Spain living in Barcelona like John Talabot, Delorean or el Guincho but they usually play abroad so we don’t see that much of them. There is also quite a big jazz scene with large program of concerts where the local musicians could play.
Lottarox will soon bring you to Italy. How did it happen your scouting?
I think Lottarox worked with Two Wounded Birds – a band from Margate that we got to know in Barcelona while they were touring around Europe. I told our managers that we’d love to join them to tour around but we finally could not make it. I guess Lottarox checked our band out and that is the reason we are now getting ready to play some gigs in London and Italy.
