I find that trying to classify your music is a very hard task. Your tracks touch techno, electro, punk, trance. Do you think it’s a plus or a minus being not so classifiable?
I just want it to sound like “Panteros” and nothing else. So it’s 100% essential to me. Also as being part of the Club Cheval audio style.
You have released your works both on Bromance Rec and Sound Pellegrino. Which are the most remarkable difference in the workflow of the two parisian labels?
Sound Pellegrino only releases one unique EP from different producers. Whereas Bromance has more freedom about the way it works. Bromance is like a family with variable geometry. Jacques Lu Cont only released one killer track as a Bromance guest of honor for example. But with the release of Hyper Reality mini LP and BABY F-16 i’m fully dedicated to Bromance like Brodinski or Gesaffelstein.
How french DJs see Milan? Is it a cool place to make party or it’s just another gig to put on your CV?
As a long time Italo Disco fan, i see Milan as a great place for dance music. In all aspects, from the classic eighties videoclips like Atlantis – Tom Hooker and to the legendary synth leads like all the ones by Righeira or Alexander Robotnik . I feel italians are like cousins anyway (꒡͡ ો ̼̮ ꒡͡)
You are a 2.0 artist so i imagine that you evaluate how much people like your work also through the social networks’ numbers. Are you obsessed with likes, comments and views or do you think that music still needs other parameters of judgement?
Being obsessed with likes is such a modern mind disorder, all my creative output : music, videos, artworks, websites is led by imagination alone, then I share it on the Internet for the world to see. People can talk or comment that it’s weird, i don’t care.
What are your current projects as Panteros666 and as part of the Club Cheval collective?
I’m working on a 2.0 version of my live show and exciting new techno singles as Panteros666. With Club Cheval, we’re wraping up our joint album at the moment, to have new music coming early 2014.
You have a strong web culture and you are involved not only in the music field, but in the world of communication under many points of view – advertising, videos, websites. What are your favourite bullshits around the internet?
I just like being a “web explorer”, everything on earth has been discovered, so if you wanna hunt treasures somewhere it’s got to be online. The thing that irritates me is how the non-native generation, the 40 year olds, are currently taking all the fun away from the Internet to replace it with their polite, legal, neutral and anti avant-garde content.
What do you think of the seapunk/tumblrwave imagenary? You started to use it before many others, such as Azealia Banks who’s now the queen of this trend.
Azelia is the queen of nothing but herself. One day she decided to use all the cliché imagery from that subculture for a video and did something completly different the next day. I believe that this scene lives because everyone makes it personal and unique.
Ok, let’s go with the final serious question based on your clear passion for punk colored hair. Have you seen the infamous french film “La vie d’Adele”? What shade of blue does the main character wear in your opinion?
Taking a wild guess i’d say she used the “Capri Blue” from Crazy Color and washed her hair at least 7 times before shooting the movie.
