The first record you ever bought:
First record I ever bought was a Sergio Mendes Vinyl LP named Sergio Mendes, and the first Hip Hop album I ever purchased was Kanye West 808’s & Heartbreaks.
A record that made you want to start making music:
Nelly – Ride With Me
A record that inspires you production-wise:
Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, The whole album is just golden ! I aspire to create something as good as this sometime in my music career.
A record that makes you want to dance:
Almost the majority of music gets me moving in some sort of way, but currently a record that is making want to dance is Kendrick Lamar – Backstreet Freestyle, that joint there most definitely slaps! Classic album and timeless music !
A record that makes you go all emotional:
I tend to develop some sort of emotional or spiritual attachment to the majority of music I listen to, mainly things I can relate to, once again I will say Kendrick Good Kid Mad City, touching on the realist topics on that album. and also his current record “The Blacker The Berry” definitely a record that touches on significant topics culturally, and politically. So yeah in terms of relation, understanding and some sort of emotional attachment those records definitely move me.
The record that you use to come down and relax:
Robert Glasper, one of my favourite musicians of all time! anytime i just want to wine down, relax, feel inspired, clear thoughts, I listen to Robert Glasper – Canvas, Robert Glasper – Double Booked, these alums here are just great. Another artists being Gretchen Parlato and Esparanza Spalding, all great Jazz Musicians that I look up to musically.
Your favourite record of the 2014:
So far it has to be J.Cole – Forest Hill Drive, definitely a strong album
The last record you bought:
The last record i purchased was a record by The Islely Brothers and another by The Ojay’s
