Erykah Badu durante un’intervista al podcast di Rap Radar ne approfitta per parlare di quale sia stata la reazione da parte della sua famiglia, in particolare di sua mamma, dopo aver sentito ‘Ms. Jackson’, palesemente indirizzata alla madre della cantante, quest’ultima ex-moglie di André 3000:
“I still had a kind of sore spot, like I don’t want to hear that, especially when I heard Big Boi’s verse. And then when I heard André’s verse, I felt very good because his verse was really, really inspiring,” she said. “He just told how he felt… and I’ve always respected that and listened to what he felt and appreciated it. […] How did my mama feel? Baby, she bought herself a Ms. Jackson licence plate. She had the mug, she had the ink pen, she had the headband, everything. That’s who loved it.”
Nell’intervista Badu parla anche di suo figlio Seven, nato dalla relazione con André e del suo ultimo lavoro con D.R.A.M. “l’enigma”, come le piace definirlo:
“If George Clinton, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and D’Angelo had a baby, that’s D.R.A.M.”
