Rollover: You Left Uni to focus on your Music Career, right?
Julio: I didn’t quite get to uni, I applied and was going to go, to study music. A week before it happened I talked to my brother, I said to him, ‘I’m going to go to uni, learn how to produce, and then spend two years after that to get signed to Claude VonStroke’s label’. And a week later, Claude VonStroke emailed me and said ‘come, I want to release your record’. So, I didn’t end up going to uni.
Rollover: if u were not a dj what would u be?
Julio: I don’t know; I’d probably be…a postman? I guess because you get to get the shorts, and the cool boots!
Rollover: Do you prefer to play at clubs OR, at large festivals in front of thousands?
Julio: I generally I prefer the smaller ones, there are a couple of bigger ones, like Sonar – I closed out Sonar one year, that was fucking crazy – that would stay with me forever. It was 5 years ago.
Rollover: You were super young!
Julio: Yeah, that was cool.
Rollover: What’s one track that never gets old? No matter how …blah blah
Julio: I’d go for Why by Kylie Simon, that’s pretty much my favourite song.
Rollover: What’s the vinyl that you always have in your bag?
Julio: Its probably some, oh u know what, its probably a boring one, but its more because it always works, its Scott Grooves – Nitty Gritty
Rollover: A Dj Career is full of hangover: what’s your favourite “day after” album or track?
Julio: Its probably, like a lift-me-up type like, Wham.
