The first record you bought:
Blackstreet- Another Level. Another song I remember seeing on MTV and BET an being blown away by it. Basically any time I saw people playing real instruments in pop music I got super excited. The sound of the piano on “No Diggity” in the sample from Bill Withers “Grandmaʼs Hands” was my favorite part. Plus “Donʼt Leave” was one of the first songs I learned on the piano… and there was this movie “Soul Food” that had a scene where one of the main characters played it on the piano.
