Joshua Idehen – Mum Does The Washing
Quando ero piccola, in quarta o quinta elementare, ero ossessionata da una cosa che girava sui diari (c’è stato un tempo in cui le cose erano virali e allo stesso tempo scritte con penne glitterate): la spiegazione dei sistemi economici usando due mucche. Non so perché questo tipo di satira girasse tra i banchi delle scuole elementari, in ogni caso credo di aver imparato tutto quello che so sul mondo da quelle due mucche e dagli scritti di Giobbe Covatta nella mia prima Smemoranda (e mi basta).
Joshua Idehen fa la stessa cosa, senza diari, senza mucche, solo con una madre che fa il bucato e tanti nuovi termini che negli anni 90 non esistevano e che forse ancora non abbiamo capito. Viviamo in un mondo in cui non siamo d’accordo con niente. Joshua Idehen usa il linguaggio universale della musica (lo stesso delle penne colorate) per mettere in mostra il potere dell’umorismo, del linguaggio, delle parole (le parole sono importanti!). Mum Does The Washing è un brano molto bello, brillante, divertente.
Joshua Idehen vive in Svezia, è un artista di Spoken Word inglese con origini nigeriane.
