Bonjour/buongiorno/hola everyone, we are La Belle, a franco-italo-hispanic label based in Paris. We’re there for showing you the best musical dreams we have and for giving you music to have sex to.
We’re really good friends (Golden Bug, Herr Styler, La Tebwa) and we basically wanted our own structure, a place without any kind of pressure from the outside world, a place where we could release the music we love, where we could take time to choose the right artwork and to develop an overall strong identity, a place where we can basically do whatever we want.
3) Quali sono i pro e i contro?
Best thing of having a label: release parties. Worst thing of having a label: the day after a release party.
4) Già che ci siamo, supporto fisico o digitale? Da che parte vi schierate?
OF COURSE we’d prefer vinyl. What are we, barbarians? Vinyl is sexy, MP3 is basically like masturbation on a porn website.
But realistically speaking, 90% of the people out there listen to their music on computers, mp3 readers, mobile phones, etc…so, well…digital is definitively the best way to spread the La Belle music.
As we are a really small structure at the moment, we prefer going digital and investing our limited budgets in a good promo, state-of-the-art artworks and stuff. We’ll maybe be able to release some tracks on vinyl in the future…
We give them what they want: women, dwarves, IKEA kitchens, lighters, bocadillos, drugs, coffee, schoko-bons, tartares, clothing, shoes. Whatever they like. We’re good hosts.
Really? We don’t think we’re sounding *that* 80s actually…what we look for in a release is some kind of fresh mix of genres and influences. From purity nothing is born, is by messing your hands with stuff that you get the most interesting results. Techno, disco, house, afrobeat, 80s music, we don’t really care actually. We just want to release original tracks which will last in the future. Is it hard? Yes.
7) Quali sono le prossime uscite?
We’re going to release a new amazing band called In Fields after Rodion & Khan’s Discoteca Romana. In Fields are Ed Cox from UK and Raoul from Australia. They wrote down the rules of techno, funk and futuristic music and they DECIDED TO GIVE A HUGE FUNK EM ALL to them. It’s amazing, it’s sexy, it’s great. It’s gonna be out with a crazy remix by our good friends Get A Room!, we’ve seen them playing it last week in Paris, people were like WOOO WHAT IS THIS OH MY GOD I WANT TO DANCE TO IT UNTIL TOMORROW WOOO THIS IS GREAT. (Yes, in Paris everyone talks in CAPS LOCK. BONJOUR, CA VA?) Then there ‘s Clap Rules and another Golden Bug release (remixed by Pilooski) in the pipeline. Future’s looking good. OUI OUI.
